Create and launch a raise

Walk through the new raise steps, save a draft, and launch when it is ready.

Before you start

Owners, admins, and editors can create and launch raises. Raise must be turned on for your team first. Until it is, the setup checklist on Raises walks you through Connect bank account, Create first raise, and Finish and launch.

Create the raise

On Raises, select New raise, then go through each step and select Continue.

  1. Does this have an end date? Choose Campaign for a goal and an end date, or Ongoing to keep giving open with no end date.
  2. Set a clear target. Enter your Fundraising goal, from $500 to $1,000,000. Ongoing raises ask for an optional Yearly target instead.
  3. When should this run? Choose When I launch or Specific dates. Quick lengths are 3 weeks, 6 weeks, and 3 months.
  4. Give your raise a name.
  5. Who's raising? Pick people from Groups or Members. Set each person to Create Pages to give them their own page, or Share only to have them share the team page.
  6. Add a team video with Record video or Upload video, or select Skip. This step only shows when the raise uses the team page.
  7. Why are you raising? Write your story.
  8. Are donations tax-deductible? Choose Tax-deductible, Not deductible, or Not sure yet, and add your EIN if you have one. Confirm that Snack takes 5% of each donation ($5 on a $100 gift).

Select Create raise. This saves the raise as a draft. Nothing is sent yet.

Launch

Open the draft and select Launch. A raise can launch once:

  • At least one person is raising.
  • There is at least one video when people have their own pages.
  • The 5% fee terms are accepted.

When the raise goes live, Snack reaches out to the supporters each athlete added.
